Why Do You See Spent Transfers Littering Everywhere?
When the new automated fare system was installed, Metro administration decided to
stop equipping busses with a small trash bag that could be used to collect spent
transfers. The new transfers are less biodegradable than before, due to their waxy
coating. It's no wonder that you see a plethora of expired transfers littering every
downtown bus stop! It is not as if Metro has not been notified about the issue, numerous
times. Why can't the administration at Metro Transit locate a civic-minded business
to donate the cost of providing such trash bags in return for a "kudos" to the business
being printed on the bags? (July 19, 2006)
